Kindergarten News for January 11th-15th

We are continuing to work on the unit called "Winter Weatherland". We will be learning about winter weather and reading our second Shared Story. Your child will bring home The Wet Dog this week to read for homework. Daily activities are listed on the Read & Respond card. Please let your child do as much of the reading as possible during these activities. In math, we are working on measuring and counting by 5's. Please work on your child's 100th Day Project with them. It is due on January 21st. Third Quarter Community Service Project - Our class is starting a recycling program at school. We already received the recycling bins and delivered them to the classrooms. Each child will be part of a team that collects the recycling from the classrooms. Important Notice: Please make sure your child attends school daily and on time. Attendance is important to your child's success at school. Thank you for your support! Homework
Monday
  • Read to or with your child for 10-15 minutes.
  • Complete math pages "Eleven" & "Twelve".
  • Have your child read The Wet Dog (provide assistance if needed) and complete the activities on the Read & Respond card.
  • Practice reading flashcard words - a, he, I, is, my, me, the, we, no, & was.
Tuesday
  • Read to or with your child for 10-15 minutes.
  • Complete math page "Matching Numbers".
  • Have your child read The Wet Dog (provide assistance if needed) and complete the activities on the Read & Respond card.
  • Practice reading flashcard words - a, he, I, is, my, me, the, we, no & was.
Wednesday
  • Read to or with your child for 10-15 minutes.
  • Complete math page "Measuring with Feet".
  • Have your child read The Wet Dog (provide assistance if needed) and complete the activities on the Read & Respond card.
Thursday
  • Read to or with your child for 10-15 minutes.
  • Complete "This Little Snowman" counting book and then read it with your child.
  • Have your child read The Wet Dog (provide assistance if needed) and complete the activities on the Read & Respond card.

Friday

  • No homework!
